Sterling Cooley — Timeline

2013

Begins ultrasound engineering research in Berkeley, CA.

2014

Hired by University of Arizona (Tucson) and Dr. Stuart Hameroff to develop ultrasound hardware for neural and consciousness stimulation research.

2015

Raises VC funding; moves to Shenzhen, China to accelerate device development.

2016

Relocates to Washington, DC; coordinates ultrasound grant funding with NIH. During a DARPA/Pentagon meeting, hears interest in Vagus Nerve Stimulation.

2017

Begins experimentation with ultrasound stimulation of the cervical (neck) vagus nerve; finds exceptional effects.

2018

Launches human trial with 50 initial participants for ultrasound VNS therapy — a major success.

2019

Launches an online course with human coaching add-on; supports 300+ participants rapidly and successfully.

2020

Vagus Nerve Stimulation & Repair Program and Facebook group grow to tens of thousands of daily readers and ultrasound users.

2021

Trains additional coaches to implement ultrasound VNS into their successful practices.

2022

Presents at the 5th Annual Bioelectrical Medicine Conference (NYC); deepens insights into the Insular Cortex–Vagus connection.

2023

Develops a Brain & Vagus Nerve protocol with faster, greater results for clients.

2024

Transitions training fully online via “Ultra Skool”; expands research into ultrasound and neurodegeneration; launches an Alzheimer’s Research Group.

2025

Leads mid-scale human study applying ultrasound to treat and potentially reverse Alzheimer’s disease; receives IRB & FDA nod to continue.
